Medina County Career Center | Ohio Technical Center Welcomes New Director of Nursing Education, Tina Myers

As the Medina County Career Center | Ohio Technical Center (MCCC | OTC) continues to expand its healthcare education programming for adult learners, strong leadership is more vital than ever. This spring, MCCC | OTC proudly announced a major step forward with the appointment of Tina Myers, MSN, RN, CNEcl, as the new Director of Nursing Education.

Myers brings a wealth of nursing experience to the role, most recently serving as Clinical Assistant Professor at Ashland University’s Mansfield campus. With a specialized background in labor and delivery and post-partum care, her professional journey includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Akron and a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also holds certification as an academic clinical nurse educator, further enhancing her ability to support both students and faculty.

Her path into nursing was shaped by her own experience as an adult learner. Myers began her nursing education in her 30s, while balancing family responsibilities and a career outside the healthcare field, including working for Westfield Companies and running an in-home daycare. This personal journey gives her a unique understanding of the challenges adult learners face—and a deep commitment to supporting them as they pursue their healthcare careers.

A lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Black River High School, Myers brings a strong connection to the local community. Her husband, Walt, is a graduate of MCCC’s Carpentry program, and both of their daughters, Julia and Lauren, attended Black River schools. Her return to serve the community she calls home is a source of great pride and motivation.

In her new role, Myers is focused on advancing the accreditation process for the LPN program at MCCC | OTC, as well as enhancing the curriculum and supporting the continued growth of all adult healthcare programs, including Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, and Phlebotomy Technician. She is known for her approachable, open-door leadership style, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for students and staff alike.

When not at work, Myers enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and traveling—her most recent adventure taking her to Ireland.

Tina Myers brings energy, compassion, and a deep love of the nursing profession to her new role. We are excited to welcome her to the MCCC | OTC team and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our healthcare education programs and the adult learners we serve.
