The school district affirms that no person shall, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or handicap be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits or, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity conducted under its auspices.  This shall extend to employees/students therein and admission thereto.  Inquires concerning the application of this policy, or complaints regarding this policy, may be referred to the Board of Education’s designated coordinator.

A formal complaint may be made in writing to the School District’s Compliance Officer, Christopher Kalina, 1101 West Liberty Street, Medina, Ohio 44256.  At anytime during the grievance procedure a formal complaint may be filed directly with the U.S. Department of Education, Team Leader, Office for Civil Rights, 600 Superior Avenue East, Suite 750 Bank One Center, Cleveland, Ohio 44104-2611.  This policy shall prevail in all Board of Education policies concerning school employees and students.

The Board of Education designates Christopher Kalina as Title VI (race, color, and national origin), Title IX (sex equity), and Section 504 (handicap) Coordinator.
