The Medina County Career Center is expanding its career-technical offerings with the addition of a new Welding program for high school students, beginning in the 2027-2028 school year.
The program is being made possible in part through a generous $1.5 million donation from the Tom and Jill Lincoln Foundation, an estate-based foundation dedicated to supporting initiatives that benefit Medina County. The gift will fund the development of a brand-new, state-of-the-art welding training program and lab.
The addition of Welding reflects MCCC’s commitment to preparing students for high-demand careers. With a growing need for skilled welders across Medina County and throughout the country, graduates will be well-positioned for opportunities in manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, transportation, and other essential industries.
While the program is still being finalized, students can expect hands-on training in Flux-Core, Stick, MIG, and TIG welding, as well as oxy-fuel welding and cutting, plasma cutting, blueprint reading, welding symbols, shop safety, and metal fabrication. Students will also gain experience using advanced industry equipment in a modern learning environment.
MCCC administration is very excited to bring this long-awaited program to students and will share additional updates as preparations continue for the 2027-2028 school year.
