On September 23, Volkswagen of America, Volkswagen of Akron, and Brunswick Auto Mart donated a brand-new Volkswagen Atlas to Medina County Career Center’s Automotive Technology program.

“These vehicles will be essential in assisting the next generation of Volkswagen technicians to interact with and learn the latest technology that is part of our exciting model lineup” said John Peterson, director of fixed operations, Volkswagen of America. “At Volkswagen we strongly believe in investing in the next generation and with our growing model lineup, it’s critical we give these young technicians the opportunity to be hands on with our vehicles to help ensure we continue to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction in the future.”

This donation to MCCC is part of the Volkswagen Drive Bigger initiative. Volkswagen is partnering with local dealers to donate vehicles to universities, colleges and career-technical schools with automotive programs to assist with developing future Volkswagen-trained technicians throughout the country.

“We’re grateful to have community partners that help us provide opportunities to our students,” said Darin Lewis, Automotive Technology instructor, MCCC. “My students are looking forward to working on the Atlas and also learning the new technology.”
