MCCC Construction Trades students were featured on Fox 8 News Cleveland, KICKINit with Kenny!  Students are displaying their custom-made mailboxes at the NARI Home Improvement Show (Jan 9 – Jan 12), which will be raffled off to benefit the Animal Protective League.

Instructor Todd Mason has been involved with the NARI Home Improvement Show for over 10 years stated students “always come up with new, bright and cool ideas for a good cause” (Benson, 2020).  This year’s theme is animal or house-themed mailboxes.  Aurora Yager, senior student, said building mailboxes taught her how to use her construction finishing skills.  Senior Ezra Henderson added, “Building these mailboxes was a great way to practice our carpentry skills. It allowed us to be creative and explore our abilities at the same time. Doing projects — such as building mailboxes for the APL — is a great way to find out what we are really good at, and what sort of skills and trades we would like to pursue as we expand our career in construction” (Benson, 2020).
