Adult students receive an introduction to counseling services available at MCCC and may schedule appointments with the licensed school counselor for:
- Counseling for academic, personal, and social concerns.
- Assistance with understanding learning styles, study skills, and balancing schedules.
- Identifying barriers to achieving success.
- Information regarding healthy living, communication, and work ethics.
Job Placement
The Academic Counseling and Job Placement Coordinator is responsible for assisting students and graduates seeking employment. Following computer and resume writing instruction, students complete and submit a resume outlining their experience and education. Students receive instruction on interviewing skills and job seeking strategies including mock interviews, professional dress, and completing job applications to complement their training in their desired field of study.
Along with the administrative and support staff team, the coordinator works closely with the faculty on job placement. The instructors are often a point of contact for referring students to appropriate employment after program completion, and the coordinator collects and disseminates the information to students.
Employers and Employment Opportunities
Job postings from prospective employers may be submitted online
Known employment opportunities are emailed directly to students and program completers. These opportunities are also maintained in a notebook accessible to students in the Adult Education Office. Students are encouraged to post their resume and search for jobs on the Ohio Means Jobs website.
