Construction to Begin on Second Building at Medina County Career Center<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\"Construction is slated to begin soon on a second building dedicated to supporting the construction trades at the Medina County Career Center\u2019s (MCCC) main campus. The more than 16,000-square-foot structure will be located next to\u2014and will mirror\u2014the new construction trades building that was dedicated in August 2024.<\/p>\n

Once completed, the two facilities will collectively be known as the Medina County Career Center Ken Cleveland Construction Trades Academy. <\/strong>Together, they will house MCCC\u2019s Construction Trades, Construction Electricity, and Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) programs, creating a centralized hub for construction-related career training.<\/p>\n

The addition of the second building will foster increased collaboration among students and instructors across the Construction Trades<\/a><\/span>, Construction Electricity<\/a><\/span>, and HVAC<\/a> <\/span>programs, while also allowing for more efficient use of existing campus space. As programs relocate to the new center, space will be freed up in both the O.C. Duke building and the main building.<\/p>\n

Plans are already being discussed to further support regional workforce demand by introducing a Welding <\/strong>program, which would be housed in the former Construction Electricity space in the O.C. Duke building.<\/p>\n

This expansion is made possible in part through the continued generosity of the Ken Cleveland Foundation<\/strong>. The foundation previously provided $2.5 million to fund the original construction trades building and has now pledged an additional $3 million toward the second facility.<\/p>\n

Thanks to this ongoing support, the Medina County Career Center will continue to be able to offer students pursuing careers in the construction industry state-of-the-art facilities, hands-on learning opportunities, and collaborative experiences that will give them a meaningful advantage as they enter the workforce.<\/p>\n
