With hands-on skill practice, students will be prepared to provide care when it\u2019s needed most.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AED Certification: <\/strong>Students will learn how to properly use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), a device that can help restore a normal heart rhythm.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recognizing Emergencies:<\/strong> Students will learn to identify the signs of cardiac distress and other medical emergencies, as well as what important steps to take in an emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Why should YOU get your CPR Heartsaver\u00ae Certification?\u00a0 Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, and immediate CPR can double or triple the victim\u2019s chance of survival. According to the American Heart Association, 70% of cardiac arrests occur in the home or in public places. By taking this training, you are equipping yourself with the knowledge and skills to act confidently, quickly and effectively to help a friend, family member, co-worker or member of your community.<\/p>\n<p>MCCC will offer the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?page_id=29328\">CPR Heartsaver\u00ae Certification on Thursday, January 23, and Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the MCCC campus<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 The class will be taught by Christopher Blair, a Certified CPR Heartsaver\u00ae instructor and member of the Cleveland Clinic Life Support Team. Tuition is $60, and students may register on the MCCC Adult Education website. Don\u2019t wait &#8211; anyone can be a potential responder in an emergency.
