{"id":29573,"date":"2023-10-24T15:55:08","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T20:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?p=29573"},"modified":"2023-10-24T15:59:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T20:59:20","slug":"great-things-happen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?p=29573","title":{"rendered":"Great Things Happen at MCCC!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>We\u2019ve had a fast &amp; busy start to the 2023-2024 school year!<\/strong> <strong>Our students are learning new skills, making new friends, taking field trips, &amp; participating in MCCC activities, experiences, &amp; celebrations.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Our new <strong>Career Technical Student Leadership Council<\/strong> was chosen &amp; held a School Sunrise to kick off the year &amp; promote school pride.<\/li>\n<li>Over 200 students were invited to become <strong>MCCC Student Ambassadors<\/strong> for our 8<sup>th<\/sup> Grade Tours, Road Shows, &amp; MCCC Experience days.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?page_id=1561\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Career Exploration<\/span><\/a> students started their jobs at Habitat for Humanity &amp; Buehler\u2019s Forest Meadows. They also shopped to stock our <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?page_id=16034\">MCCC Care Closet<\/a><\/span>. Our Care Closet is a place to help students who might need essentials.<\/li>\n<li>We celebrated 89 companies who participated in hiring 114 student interns from 16 of our <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?page_id=1385\">Career Technical majors<\/a><\/span> at the <strong>Summer Internship<\/strong> dinner.<\/li>\n<li>Twenty young women participated in the <strong>Local 18 Operating Engineers <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/Local 18 Operating Engineers She Dig Day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SheDig Day<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. Our students got to run a variety of equipment &amp; learned about apprenticeships &amp; opportunities in this in-demand field.<\/li>\n<li>The <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/mcjvs.edu\/?page_id=252\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center Caf\u00e9<\/a><\/span> run by MCCC Chef &amp; Restaurant Management students won four <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/medina-gazette.com\/live-content\/best-of-the-best\/#\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best of the Best in the Medina Gazette contes<\/a><\/span>t.
