Nearly 300 professionals and community members attended the 2019 Annual Advisory Council Meeting held at Medina County Career Center (MCCC) on Tuesday, Oct. 8. An advisory council is a group of highly-qualified individuals who provide industry-appropriate recommendations for continuous improvement of career-technical programs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful to have so many active members on our advisory council,\u201d said Tresa Goodwin, principal. \u201cTheir knowledge and expertise assists in providing authentic learning experiences and\u00a0 high quality career technical and adult education programs to our students. We appreciate their input very much.\u201d Guests were provided with heavy appetizers and desserts prepared by students in MCCC\u2019s Chef and Restaurant program. Superintendent Steven Chrisman presented the State of the School, which shared some of the district\u2019s most recent accomplishments and future goals.<\/p>\n
Each year, an active member is recognized as the Advisory Council Member of the Year. The Award of Excellence is presented to a member who works diligently to enhance MCCC\u2019s position as a leader in education and community impact. This year\u2019s recipient was Dr. Christine Beiling-Sheerer, \u00a0Medina Vision and Laser Centre.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Past recipients include:<\/strong><\/p>\n After Dr. Beiling\u2019s recognition, members were adjourned to their individual meetings.<\/p>\n\n
