Women in the Bible: Old Testament
Originally taught at Metropolitan State in Denver. CO as Gender and The Bible, this class works to examine our understandings of women in a biblical context. In the first session, we will examine women that are familiar to us like Eve, as well as women that get mentioned in passing like Dinah and Abigail. The Old Testament will be our base text and additional readings from current theoretical scholars will be provided. The hope is that we will unpack the special place of women in the ancient and modern world and allow for ideas and questions to drive a unique and diverse conversation.
