High School: School Counselor

Minimum Requirements: Valid Ohio teaching license in the State of Ohio as a School Counselor – Subject Code 270200. Earned master’s degree. Previous successful experience as a classroom teacher at the high school level. Knowledge of career and technical education as delivered at the secondary level. Strong computer skills. Experience with class scheduling. Ability to present in both large and small group settings. Strong intrapersonal skills. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. High level of organization. Desire to assist and motivate young people in the setting of educational, social and behavioral goals. A sincere interest in working with students, parents, staff, business partners, community organizations and associate schools. Willingness to work in a team environment. Knowledge of ACT, SAT as well as State mandated testing.
Desirable Qualifications: Successful experience as a school counselor. Previous experience in a career and technical setting. Current first aid certification.
Work Week/Year: 185 Days
Salary: Appropriate placement on the Teachers Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education.
